Nintendo ist traditionell nicht vertreten und wird wohl wieder seine eigene Konferenz abhalten, aber die restlichen Entwickler werden die Messe garantiert wieder für schöne Spiele nutzen. 31.08.09 - Square Enix wird zu Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3), Final Fantasy Agito XIII (PSP) und Parasite Eve: The Third Birthday (PSP) nichts Neues auf der Tokyo Game Show zeigen. Das sagte Tetsuya Nomura von Square Enix in der Famitsu.

Stattdessen will sich der Publisher ausschließlich auf spielbare Demos kommender Titel konzentrieren, wozu Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360), Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP) und Dissidia Final Fantasy Universal Tuning (PSP) gehören.

TGS: Details zur Final Fantasy XIII-Demo

23.09.09 - Tetsuya Nomura von Square Enix hat in der Famitsu über die PS3-Demo zu Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360) gesprochen, die auf der Tokyo Game Show ab morgen spielbar sein wird.

Im Menü-Bildschirm der Demo wird es immer noch einen sehr wichtigen Auswahlpunkt geben, der versteckt und nicht aufrufbar sein wird. Das 'Knock Up'-Kommando wurde zudem für die Demo entfernt, und der Befehl wird jetzt automatisch ausgeführt, um das Spiel leichter zu machen.

TGS Rekord: Über 27.000 Besucher am ersten Messetag

25.09.09 - Am ersten Tag (24.09.09) der Tokyo Game Show kamen 27.435 Besucher zur Videospiele-Messe nach Japan. Das meldet die Famitsu, die Messe findet vom 24.09.09 - 27.09.90 statt.

Damit wird ein neuer Rekord aufgestellt, nachdem 2008 am ersten Tag 27.305 Menschen die Messe besuchten. Im letzten Jahr kamen insgesamt 194.288 Leute zur Tokyo Game Show - diese Zahl wollen die Veranstalter jetzt übertreffen und rechnen mit mehr als 200.000 Besuchern.

TGS: Epic Games gründet Niederlassung in Tokyo

25.09.09 - Epic Games gibt die Gründung einer Niederlassung in Tokyo bekannt, die für den Verkauf und die Kunden-Unterstützung der Unreal Engine Technologie in der Region verantwortlich ist. Zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt sei auch die Spiele-Entwicklung nicht ausgeschlossen.

Besucherrückgang: Über 185.000 Besucher auf TSG / Messetermin 2010

28.09.09 - Die CESA und Famitsu geben bekannt, dass die Tokyo Game Show (24.09.09 - 27.09.09) von ingesamt 185.030 Menschen besucht wurde. Das ist ein Besucherrückgang von fast 10.000 Leuten, während die Messeleitung ihr Ziel - 200.000 Besucher - nicht erreicht hat.

Die Besucherzahlen der vier Messetage im Überblick:

24.09.09: 27.435 Besucher (Business Day)
25.09.09: 24.605 Besucher (Business Day)
26.09.09: 61.138 Besucher
27.09.09: 71.852 Besucher

TOTAL: 185.030 Besucher

Zum Vergleich die Tokyo Game Show-Besucherzahlen der letzten Jahre im überblick (die Messe findet seit 2002 nur noch einmal pro Jahr statt):
