Also nachdem ich in den US Foren gesucht habe, bin ich eigentlich in der Frage der Kosten kaum schlauer. EB games sagt, dass man für die US Version (360) eine Monatsgebühr zahlen muß - doch leider nicht wie hoch sie sein wird. Auf dieser Seite hab ich ne Meldung gefunden - weiß aber nicht, ob diese offiziell abgesegnet ist:

Demnach wäre die 360er Version tatsächlich ohne Monatsgebühren. Könnte aber auch sein (siehe unten), dass man nur dann nichts zahlen muß, wenn man ein GOLD Abo hat. Anders aber hier: http://www.xboxic.com/news/1578 - demnach müßte man zahlen
Allerdings soll es wohl so sein, dass man auch mit einem SILVER ACCOUNT PSU spielen kann online - da man nicht die XBox live Dienste in Anspruch nimmt sondern die von SEGA bzw. dem SONIC-TEAM. Soll heißen, man brauch also kein kostenpflichtiges Live-Abo für die 360, dafür aber wohl (zumindest in den USA) eine Monatsgebühr für das Online-Game. Allerdings wird man auch auf der 360 Version offline OHNE Gebühren spielen können - was ja auch um die 50 - 80 h bringen soll.
Dies war ja bei der XBox Version von PSO nicht ganz so. Dort mußte man ein akutelles Abo haben bei dem Profil, mit dem man PSO auch offline spielen wollte. Das ist also Gott sei Dank weggefallen.
Nachdem die US Versionen von PSO sowieso seit jeher Monatsgebühren gekostet haben, ist das da nichts neues. Die EU wurde verschont, weil "damals" kaum einer ne Kreditkarte hatte. Ob man das heute auch noch so sieht...glaube kaum.
Edit: im internen MS-Intranet bei den Foren steht etwas, was mir sehr glaubhaft vorkommt:

This is some crazy great news for us 360 players. Wow this is really going to be dope. Espically if this demo is released before the game comes out.

Unfortunate Phantasy Star Universe Update

As reported tonight on Episode 200 Part A of our podcast, Sega sent out an E-mail to some distributors this week with an unfortunate update to what was previously advised by Sega to our inside source.
In this update, it was advised that Phantasy Star Universe will not have free online play on the XBOX360. Users will have to make an account with Sega and pay a $9.99 monthly fee for the game. It should be noted, however, that Sega intends to place a demo on the XBOX Marketplace that will demonstrate both online and offline modes.
Playstation 2 users will be happy to know that a 14 day trial for the online service is being currently negotiated (no final word). Unfortunately, due to issues with the Japanese trial, some ways to exploit this system were discovered and it may not be included in the US release. More to come as soon as we hear. If online mode isn't your thing, Sega is boasting a 40-hour long offline mode for the game that is a "separate experience."
. Wieso kommen jetzt erst in Japan die Probleme zw. PS2 und PC Spielern im "Ernstfall" zu Tage ? Alles ein wenig chaotisch beim Sonic-Team. Viel Werbung sieht man eh nicht für PSU - auch so ein Punkt. Für jedes Durchschnitts-RPG (selbst wenn nur offline) schaltet man zig Anzeigen und liefert immer neue Infos - aber für PSU versickert alles irgendwie.
Naja - diese "Teufelskiste" 360 haben hier net so viele Leute *g*. Zu wenig Abwechslung, Innovation...man kennt ja die gängigen Ausreden
